Risk Disclosure

The brutal honest math, in one place. Read this before you wire money to a futures broker, before you join a cohort, before you take any line of curriculum content as something other than what it is: education from a 9-year practitioner about how he trades his own account.

This page is the canonical risk and education-only disclosure for Jalen Trades. Every page on the site, every email, every Discord pinned message, and every Stripe checkout page links here. If you ever see a shorter disclaimer elsewhere on the site, this is the longer version it points to.

1. Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss

Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Most retail traders lose money. The math is real and not a marketing softening — typical first-year retail futures traders blow up at least one funded account, and a substantial fraction never recover their initial capital.

Leverage works in both directions. A single ES tick is $12.50. A single CL tick is $10. A 10-handle ES move on a 5-contract position is $2,500. The same move against you is the same dollar amount. Position sizing math is unforgiving — you must be prepared to lose the capital you put at risk.

If you cannot afford to lose the money you are about to fund a futures account with, do not fund the account. Nothing on this site is intended to convince anyone otherwise.

2. Education only — no investment advice, no managed accounts

Jalen Trades provides educational content, journal tools, framework instruction, community discussion, cohort intensives, and AI mentorship trained on the operator's own journal corpus. Nothing on this site or in any product is investment advice, a solicitation, or an offer to manage funds.

The operator does not manage customer accounts. The operator does not place trades on behalf of customers. The operator does not provide signals, alerts, or specific trade recommendations. Customers trade their own accounts under their own decisions, with their own risk capital, at their own brokers.

The framework taught on this site is the operator's personal trading methodology over a 9-year practitioner career. It is one approach among many. It is not guaranteed to be appropriate for any particular trader, account size, broker, instrument, or market regime. Customers are responsible for evaluating whether any educational content fits their own situation before applying it to live trades.

3. Past performance is not indicative of future results

Case studies published on this site (including CL Long +4R 2026-04-28, FOMC Three-Instrument 2026-04-29, and any future case studies) reflect actual realized trades by the operator. They are documented from real journal entries with real fills and real P&L.

Past trades by the operator do not guarantee or imply that members, customers, cohort participants, or anyone else will achieve similar results. The operator's case studies are illustrative of the framework, not predictive of any future trader's outcomes. Different traders applying the same framework will produce different results based on their own discipline, sizing, broker, capital, and emotional state.

Annual P&L figures, breakthrough-year stories, or any specific trade outcomes referenced anywhere on the site are operator-specific historical facts, not promises or projections.

4. Hypothetical examples are clearly labeled

Some educational content uses hypothetical or simplified examples to illustrate framework rules — for instance, "if you risk $100 on a 4R trade, the math is $400 of profit at target." These are pedagogical examples and are clearly framed as such. They are not records of trades that occurred. Hypothetical performance results have many inherent limitations and do not represent actual trading.

5. Age and jurisdiction

Jalen Trades is intended for users 18 years of age or older. Customers are responsible for ensuring that their use of the service complies with the laws and regulations of their jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions restrict or prohibit retail futures trading. The operator does not provide tax, legal, or regulatory advice on jurisdictional matters.

6. AI Mentor and recursive learning disclaimers

The AI Mentor product is trained on the operator's personal trading journal and is designed to grade trades against the framework, not to predict future market outcomes. AI Mentor responses reflect the operator's framework as expressed in the journal corpus. They are not personalized investment advice and are subject to the same education-only and no-investment-advice disclaimers as the rest of the site.

The recursive learning loop — where the operator's overrides of framework rules feed back into refinements of the framework — is documented openly. Customers see how the framework evolves but receive the framework as it currently stands; they do not receive predictions about how it will evolve.

7. Member testimonials and Discord discussion

Any member testimonials, screenshots, or Discord discussion shared on the site (with member consent and after redaction of broker-specific PII) reflect those members' individual experiences. They are not representative of typical results. Most retail traders lose money — that fact does not change because some members of any educational community have positive experiences.

8. Questions about this disclosure

If anything on this page is unclear, or if you want a specific disclosure clarified before subscribing, joining a cohort, or putting capital at risk, email contact@jalenbuilds.com. Do not subscribe or fund a futures account if any of the disclosures above feel inconsistent with what you expect from the service.

Trading is hard. Edge is real. The math is brutal. Read this page, read the about page, read the free framework module, and decide for yourself whether the methodology fits how you want to spend the next several years.
